Building Strong Relationships to show God's LOVE

Who are CLiKS?

CLiKS was formed as part of Central Keighley Churches Together in July 2003 in order to coordinate Church work in schools, and in particular to provide an ecumenical umbrella for Steve Grasham with his schools work – he was representing all the Churches, not just St. Mark’s Church, Utley. His contract with Bradford Diocese has now been extended until 2011, and also extended in area to the rest of South Craven Deanery – from Oxenhope to Silsden. One third of his time is spent in schools, under the CLiKS banner.

In 2005 we were offered money to employ a full-time schools worker for a year, so to take responsibility for this a separate trust was formed, affiliated to Scripture Union. We are now registered as a charity (No. 1114284). The Trustees from January 2008 are Rev. Peter Mott (Chair), Rev. John Hudson (Vice-Chair), Dorothy Grant (Secretary), Colin Meredith (Treasurer), Margaret Anthony and Capt. Alison Gardner SA. One third of us step down each year and may be re-appointed. Steve Grasham acts as our consultant.

We advertised nationwide for a schools worker, and discovered that the best candidate already worshipped at St. Mark’s – Emma Richardson (as she then was, now Roberts). She started work in April 2006 under Steve’s guidance; she has since demonstrated her commitment and gifts in relating to children. We now have the funding for her for three more years - from Bradford Diocese, West Yorkshire Methodist District & local sources. Our first two Annual Reports and Accounts are available from the Chair of Trustees, Rev. Peter Mott – e-mail: peter.mott@live.co.uk (In 2007 we changed our year end from December 31st to August 31st, to tie in with the school year).
