How to get involved:
Getting involved in your
local school
Schools love people in the community to get involved in various ways.
This can range from:
* Listening to children read
* Becoming a governor
* Being a lunch time
supervisor
* Supporting teachers in
lesson time
* Taking a work experience
student at their place of work
* Providing an extra pair of
hands for school excursions and activities
* Running voluntary clubs,
including Christian groups
* Taking assemblies
* Offering practical help with
gardens and maintenance or in the office
* Joining the PTA
* Organising a visit from a
local school to your church to see what goes on
* Supporting Rewind/ Fast
Forward events
As CLiKS have so many contacts, it would be useful to speak to us first
and hopefully we can help you to get into a school that you would like. CLiKS
are trying to provide a network, to cover the majority of schools in the area.
Please don’t be put off by the amount of schools that we work in, but to
know that there is always room for more people to get involved. As there is
only 1 full time worker for CLiKS, it is very hard to be in lots of schools at
one time, so the more volunteers, the better!
Ways to Donate
We hope you agree that CLiKS is addressing a real need in Keighley and
the surrounding area, but every success that CLiKS has means that expectations
are raised.
We are working with an increasing number of schools and this means that
our running costs are rising. We’d like to continue to grow the work and
hopefully employ more workers in the future to enable CLiKS to maintain its
work in demonstrating God’s love to schools through local church involvement.
Support can be given through prayer,
volunteering and donations. If you feel you would like
to help financially please contact the Chair of Trustees, Rev. Peter Mott.
