How to Get Involved
Getting involved in your local school
Schools love people in the community to get involved in various ways. This can range from:
* Listening to children read
* Becoming a governor
* Being a lunch time supervisor
* Supporting teachers in lesson time
* Taking a work experience student at their place of work
* Providing an extra pair of hands for school excursions and activities
* Running voluntary clubs, including Christian groups
* Taking assemblies
* Offering practical help with gardens and maintenance or in the office
* Joining the PTA
* Organising a visit from a local school to your church to see what goes on
* Supporting Rewind/ Fast Forward events
Please don’t be put off by the amount of schools that we work in, but to know that there is always room for more people to get involved. As there is only one full-time worker for CLiKS, it is very hard to be in lots of schools at one time, so the more volunteers, the better!
Getting Involved in CLiKS
You can volunteer with CLiKS in a number of different ways:
*Become a Trustee
*Serve refreshments at events
*Help set up and clear away at events
*Be a small group leader
*Lead games, do talks or act in drama sketches
