How can you get involved?

There are many ways that you can get involved with either CLiKS or your local school. If you want to get involved in your local school, CLiKS are here to help.

Getting involved in your local school

Schools love people in the community to get involved in various ways. This can range from:

  • Listening to children read
  • Becoming a governor
  • Being a lunch time supervisor
  • Supporting teachers in lesson time

As CLiKS have so many contacts, it would be useful to speak to us first and hopefully we can help you to get into a school that you would like. CLiKS are trying to provide a network, to cover the majority of schools in the area.

Please don’t be put off by the amount of schools that we work in, but to know that there is always room for more people to get involved. As there is only 1 full time worker for CLiKS, it is very hard to be in lots of schools at one time, so the more volunteers, the better!

Getting involved in the Rewind and Fast Forward events

As the amount of schools keep growing, the team of volunteers also needs to keep growing. CLiKS thinks it is important for churches to work together, and so getting a team of volunteers from different churches is great for these events.

There are many ways you can be involved at the event:

  • Running a small group of children (approx 10)
  • Making tea and coffee for teachers, staff and team
  • Talking to teachers and staff, and see how they are finding the event
  • Helping to clear away the craft through the sessions
  • Doing the tecky jobs (projector and running the power points)
  • Making sandwiches for the team
  • Administration – Registering people in etc
  • Praying for the sessions are they are being run

There are so many ways in which you can be involved, and we would love to have you as part of the team. What ever talents or gifts you have, we can use them.

Should you wish to become a volunteer, and choose to work with the children you will need to fill out a Scripture Union CRB check. If you wish to do things away from the children, for example making tea and coffee you will need to fill in a contact form yearly. These checks do take a while, so please can you get in contact with us well in advance of the event.

If you know of anybody else who might be interested in being part of the Rewind team please let us know so we can start the process of checking their suitability to work with children (CRB) in plenty of time.
