The CLiKS Team
Steve Grasham - Children’s and Young People’s Missioner, South Craven Deanery. I qualified as a primary school teacher in 1987 and taught for ten years in Bexhill-on-Sea. I then changed career to become a church youth worker and have served in the Beaconsfield Team Ministry, Bucks and St. Mark’s, Keighley, West Yorkshire before taking up my present post in 2006.
Alison Way - I am covering Emma’s maternity leave for the next year (2008-2009). I originally come from Stafford in the Midlands where I started as a volunteer youth leader at my church. Since then I’ve gone on to do a gap year as a Schools Worker with Mid-Staffs Youth Net in my home town, and a degree in Community and Youth Work (Church-based Specialism) at Durham University. I also worked part-time as a Children’s Chaplain and Youth Pastor for a youth project in Durham called LOL.
I’m really excited about being part of CLiKS and am enjoying meeting the staff and pupils at the schools CLiKS works in, as well as trying new things such as helping Steve with the drumming workshops and getting to play a djembe for the first time! I’m looking forward to continuing CLiKS’ work with the schools and churches in this area and finding new ways to support the schools.
My role as CLiKS Schools Worker is to facilitate a Christian presence in every school in our area, to establish, maintain and develop links with all the schools in the area, with the aim of making pupils’ experience of church and Christianity a positive one. Another aspect of my role is getting volunteers from local churches to support their local school by offering their services, in what ever way they can.
These are some of the activities I do on a daily basis:
- taking assemblies
- teaching RE lessons
- running the Rewind/ Fast Forward events
- helping with drumming workshops
- helping with three after-school groups for local children and their families
Emma Roberts - "Emma is currently on maternity leave after giving birth to Joshua Martyn on 6th October. Tim and Emma are very excited about being parents and are enjoying spending time together as a family."
